Being Mindful…

Hi there,

Just a quick note to those of you who are supporting, in one way or another, the journey that is Days of Colour.

Its curious how we are often poor at listening to our own council, dont you think? or in my case to day using ‘timeline’ to place me where I needed to be. Heres the example;

I went to the dentist, routine re filling. I have never been that great with dentists so I took a slug of my own hypnotic/NLP medicine & anchored the feeling of calm with the feel of the arm rest in the dentist chair. I also told myself that the further the chair went back the more relaxed I would feel. I then transfered the vibration of the drill to my right foot, like an exhaust system, to let out any tension.

The proof of all this, when i got out of the chair I yawned because I felt sleepy, just the same as when any client is coming out of trance. Great I thought, do this more often methinks.

Then I went shopping & my timeline seem to shift to ‘in time’ rather than my normal ‘ through time’. I became engrossed, then forgot about the fact I had been to the dentist. Ate some food, thought I was chewing on my good side & bit through my (numb) gum!

It looks worse than it is and it just goes to show the difference between being mindful when it is required of you & allowing your thoughts to drift.

My fault for not letting my unconscious mind to look after my mouth!

Till next time, keep well.

Gavin
